Initial Consultation

Typically, after having been referred to Carus Orthodontics by your general dentist, an initial consult appointment will be made for you or your child with one of our specialized Doctors. There is normally no charge for the initial consult. Use this time to ask any questions you may have about treatment and about Carus Orthodontics. If you decide to schedule an appointment with us, there are a few things you should know about your first visit.



WHAT TO BRING
Please make sure you have the following items below for your first visit:

INFORMATION. We will need information about your medical and family history and insurance if applicable. Make sure you disclose all medical problems including allergies you may have and all medications you are taking.

DRIVER'S LICENSE. We will need to make a copy of your driver's license to verify your identity and for insurance benefits if applicable.

PAST DENTAL X-RAYS. Any dental x-rays taken with the last six (6) months.

RESPONSIBLE PARTY. A parent or guardian must accompany all minors.

Your First Visit

On your first visit to Carus Orthodontics Group, we will evaluate your orthodontic needs, determine if treatment is needed, and estimate the length and cost of the treatment. If we determine that your treatment should begin at a later date, due to insufficient development, we will suggest periodic visits to our office until you are ready for treatment.

When you are ready to begin your orthodontic treatment a "Diagnostic Records" appointment will be scheduled to obtain the necessary information to formulate a precise diagnosis and treatment plan.

Providing our patients with the highest quality and affordable orthodontics has been our fundamental goal for years. Which means our focus everyday is to see that you receive all the special care and attention that quality orthodontic treatment demands.

What to Expect

Please read the "What to Bring" sidebar to the right after making your first appointment. If you need help with directions, please feel free to call. When you visit Carus Orthodontics for the first time, you can expect the following:

  1. Once you arrive, a Patient Service Representative will give you a few forms to fill out.
  2. A Carus Orthodontist Assistant will greet you in the reception area and guide you to a treatment room.
  3. A Carus Orthodontist will come in to meet you to discuss your needs and options. Please feel free to ask any questions and voice any concerns you may have.
  4. The Orthodontic Assistant will return and present you with a comprehensive treatment plan along with a cost estimate of services. If you don't understand specific items in the plan, please ask your Carus Orthodontist for further explanation.
  5. You will be guided up front to our check out area where a Patient Service Representative will help you schedule all recommended appointments.
